The Rebellion Yoga Teacher Training
You know that moment on your mat where you get a glimpse of true, raw, growth? You discover something you couldn’t do. You experience a powerful glimpse of freedom. You shed a tear without knowing or understanding why. You consciously hold space for difficult feelings and make it through to the other side.
We call these breakthroughs. Big moments where something shifts.
After a breakthrough, you start to notice things.. and it feels both foreign and exciting. You forgive yourself more often. You set clear boundaries. You make time for things that fill your heart. You allow yourself freedom and expression. YOU step up and rebel against anything that has prevented you from living your truest self …. Welcome to The Rebellion.
On the surface, it will look like you are learning to teach yoga. But we also know that yoga is a vehicle to accessing one’s deeper self. And we believe that the best yoga teachers are ones who are, and continue to be, in the work of self discovery.
You may not have any desire to actually teach yoga. But if something is calling you to go deeper… this may be it.
Why train with The Rebellion?
At Rebel Power Yoga, we aspire to strip yoga of the performance and journey back to the heart. We believe that yoga is NOT about perfecting poses and people; we are more interested in what is possible from here.
You will have the opportunity to experience workshops or mentorship by several experienced teachers from our powerhouse teaching team, who together hold a diverse and powerful blend of training and experience with esteemed teachers like Baron Baptiste, Jason Crandell, Bonnie Weeks, Bernie Clark, Brett Larkin, Happy Jack Yoga, and Janet Stone.
Together, we have built a community that inspires growth.
Lead Teacher: Patty Groves
“ Yoga has quite literally shifted the trajectory of my life.
I have been teaching since 2016 when I completed a 200 hour Power Vinyasa Training with Megan Daniels, and I have since led a number of successful workshops and programs around self-inquiry and personal growth. In my classes, I am always committed to holding space for the real and hard things, while still inviting both light-heartedness and integrity.
After my first teacher training in power vinyasa yoga, where I was drawn to the physicalness of the practice, I experienced some difficult life events; my teaching and yoga practice drew me to explore yogic philosophy and spirituality, as well as trauma-informed/ somatic yoga. As a result, I have spent three years completing a variety of trainings, certifications, and workshops with numerous teachers, including Jack Boken (of Happy Jack Yoga), Brett Larkin, Eoin Finn, and Randelle Lusk.
I love digging deep into human nature and leading powerful discussions; I was an English teacher for 12 years. When I began studying yogic texts like the Bhagavad Gita, it all felt right up my alley! As a result of my teaching career, I am very comfortable with offering engaging activities, building inclusion, and communicating content.
My own training invited me to find my voice, and because of that experience, I believe strongly that every yoga teacher should do the same. I deeply value the growth and journey of each individual teacher, recognizing that everyone is drawn to different paths. Humbly, I don’t claim to know everything, and I don’t believe anyone ever truly does. What I do promise is to encourage trainees with enough knowledge, skills, and mentorship to explore their own relationship with themselves and with yoga, cultivating curiosity about what genuinely resonates with them.
I recognize that this process can feel vulnerable, and that stepping into it is a courageous act. My vision is that students will transform what they learn about yoga into their own authentic expression of leadership, discovery, and empowerment. This courage will lead to power they can carry not only into their teaching, but into their lives.
Curriculum
This training is rooted in power vinyasa — a strong, fluid, breath-driven practice that builds heat, resilience, and deep presence in the body. This will provide context for the rest. Along the way, you’ll also step into other styles of yoga — not to master them all, but to expand your perspective, challenge assumptions, and help you discover what truly resonates with your voice as a teacher. Find the courage to be honest and real; expect to move with intention, ask questions, build confidence and develop a teaching practice that both respects tradition and feels powerful, honest, and fully your own.
